Our standards for sources, reviews, bylines, corrections and commercial material.

Webtamine covers technology and money with an emphasis on verifiable details and useful explanations. This policy describes the standards applied to our news reports, explainers and other editorial material.

Sources and claims

We prefer original documents, research, release notes and direct announcements. We link to the source near the relevant claim. When a statement comes from a company about its own product, we attribute it and distinguish it from independent measurement.

We identify material uncertainty, the date of an announcement and the stage of a product’s availability. A planned feature, a private preview and a generally available release are different things. We do not claim a hands-on test, interview or direct observation that did not take place.

Explanations and reviews

Explainers describe how a system works and where its limits lie. Hypothetical examples are labeled, and numerical examples are not presented as live prices or forecasts. A review should identify the product version, conditions and work actually tested. A guide based on documentation is described accordingly.

Financial and security coverage provides general information. It does not take account of an individual reader’s circumstances or promise a particular result.

Bylines and illustrations

Our contributors use editorial pen names with defined coverage areas. Author portraits and conceptual article illustrations are clearly illustrative. They are not evidence of an event or a claim about a contributor’s real-world credentials. Meet the desks on our About page.

Corrections and commercial material

Send a correction through our contact page, including the article address, the disputed statement and supporting material. We review the evidence and correct established errors. A material change to the meaning of a published story should carry a correction note. Routine spelling or formatting repairs may not need one.

If Webtamine publishes sponsored material or uses an affiliate arrangement, the relevant content should disclose that relationship. Commercial terms do not turn an unsupported claim into an established fact.
